Last wednesday, my school IHS held a fusion on global warming. It went surprisingly well & hopefully, people will change their habits.
OH, don't forget.. THIS SUNDAY IS EARTH DAY!!..SO DO SOMETHING, TURN OFF THE HOT WATER, PLANT A TREE/PLANT (don't if you live in a cold place), DON'T TURN ON THE AC since it'll be a hot weekend, DON'T STAY ON THE COMPUTER FOR TOO LONG, DON'T USE TOO MUCH ELECTRICITY, SHUT OFF MACHINES WHEN NOT IN USE etc. Find events that are happening in your area or in central park or whatever. There must be some kind of event & I'm sure it'll be fun. Just google (google.com) it or goodsearch (goodsearch.com) it. I prefer goodsearch since everytime you search, a little bit money goes to a charity of you choice.
The school took a lot of pictuers of the event. I got them from the school website. Here are pics from the event:
Ms.Ruth from IHS's environmental club
Chris from Solar One came to speak. It was a lengthy speech..but worthwhile. If you remember, the organization Solar One was also a part of the STEP IT UP, SEA OF PEOPLE rally.
thats PANYC..don't worry they're not panicking...lol.
Carol, holding a poll kind of thing with the audience.
yea, the bookmarks were awesome. I always wanted one of those.
Hamza from Origins, strand 2 asking some questions.

Even the school's staff check their ecological footprints.
That's all. I'm sooooo glad that our school students are so involved with enviromental issues. Now I just hope the school takes more actions on the issue.
